A leading London Market (re)insurance Group with a global presence and strong reputation are recruiting a newly created role in their financial controllership function.

Reporting to the Group Controller, you will also be leading and mentoring a highly skilled team.
Ensure ledger balances by Line of Business and Legal Entity and key metrics are supported by strong substantiation, control and review processes; Assist the Group Controller to drive through best practices for finance processes and develop standard reconciliation processes across all of Finance; Support the Group Controller in their role as Data Owner for Finance Reference Data and collaborate with Finance Change, the Data Office and Finance BAU stakeholders to define any new reference data.
Establish QA capability by developing a framework of processes and control, including analysis, dashboard and KPIs; Enable an early review of the financial results for various GAAPs within the Controllership Function before the official pre-close review, ensuring the accuracy of the numbers.
Support the finance leadership in embedding a culture of risk identification and mitigation within Finance and act as a key player in resolving any BAU issues with a perspective of enhancing the Financial Controls Framework; Drive new ways of working, leveraging Financial technology to find new and innovative ways to optimise BAU Financial Controls processes.
The ideal candidate will need to have a good technical understanding of insurance accounting and will understand a month end process.
Big 4 / Top 10 accountancy practice trained is highly desirable as is demonstrating excellent communication and leadership skills.
Candidates without experience in a non-life insurance business or accountancy practice (auditing insurers) will not be considered for this position.
