Financial Controller
Location: Hybrid, 3 days pw in the B'mth office
Working hours: 37.5 hour per week, Monday - Friday 9 am - 5:30 pm
Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 depending on experience

The Role This role is responsible for overseeing all financial operations, including the preparation of accurate financial statements, management of budgets, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The role will analyse financial data to provide strategic insights that guide decision-making and drive business performance. By managing cash flow and coordinating audits, the Financial Controller role will ensure the organisation maintains its financial integrity while supporting its long-term goals.
This role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a proactive approach to financial management, making it essential for the organisation's success. This role will report to our Finance Director and will have two direct reports.
Key responsibilities Preparing monthly accounts, consolidated accounts and month-end journals Managing all day-to-day accounting operations - including Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Cost Accounting, and Revenue Recognition. Overseeing Payroll and Treasury activities Undertaking online banking duties on a monthly basis and work with senior executives to obtain approval Lead the end-to-end audit process of current systems, while acting as a point of contact for external auditors. Understanding and adhering to all financial and accounting regulations and legislation Assisting in the preparation of the annual budget and cash flow forecasts and variances to aid decision making Disclosing or reporting financial activities to government authorities as necessary Overseeing the completion and submission of tax returns (e.g. CT, VAT, PAYE, EIS etc) Drive the continuous improvement of end-to-end accounting practices. Provide key contributions to the company financial strategy and decision-making processes. Key skills & Requirements Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, or CIMA) with proven experience (2+ years) as a financial accountant, financial controller, or a similar senior finance role Strong technical proficiency with analytical capabilities to interpret complex financial data and financial legislation Experience of foreign tax, compliance and transfer pricing is beneficial Proven ability to lead, supervise and help manage the work of others, this role will have two direct reports, Financial Executive and Payroll and Treasury Assistant Must be able to re-evaluate workloads against rapidly changing priorities and deliver against tight deadlines Strong decision-making and influencing skills Strong MS Office skills including excellent Excel knowledge Strong working knowledge and understanding of financial and CRM systems. Previous working experience of SAP or SAP Business By Design accounting system would be beneficial Kortext Benefits ?
