THE ROLE BBC Studios has an ambitious growth plan to double in the next five years.
This role oversees all BBC Studios financial forecasts and will support executive decision making through high quality, strategic planning, underpinned by astute business insights and an informed view of the market.
This is role as part will provide dedicated and hands-on experience for strategic and dynamic planning initiatives, such as the LRP, rolling forecasts, and cashflow forecasting, as well as any external deliverables for the longer-term financial outlook.
This role will report into Head of FP&A within the BBC Studios Finance team Key Responsibilities: Planning & Forecasting Support & help drive accurate forecasting at the BBC Commercial Group level for our long-range-plan Support an efficient rolling forecast process both in-year and spanning multiple years to allow for dynamic risk and opportunity management Serve as a high-performing finance individual who is able to synthesise and advise on trends and insights from a Group position to aid business decision making, particularly across longer-term planning cycles Provide detailed analysis of the LRP forecast ensuring key assumptions and changes to the Head of FP&A Stress test business assumption and challenge and collaborate with key stakeholders Support on monitoring of cash and debt levels particularly with respect to headroom and ability to operate within our debt and banking covenants, and to allow for informed capital allocation discussions Work closely with Reporting teams to ensure all forecasts are informed by historical performance and variances to prior forecasts.
Stakeholder Communication & Collaboration Regularly engage with senior stakeholders across BBC Studios to cultivate rapport.
Work in a collaborative manner with other members of the Group FP&A team showing a willingness to work flexibly and ensure the team overall delivers to a high standard.
Be comfortable in performing detailed analysis and maintaining an ability to clearly communicate key messages to various stakeholders, both financial and non-financial, on future performance outlooks An ability to synthesise key trends, risks and opportunities and drivers of performance to help build and deliver a clear finance story from data and numbers to various stakeholders Support on collaboration with all key finance leads across multiple divisions to build robust and informed consolidated views An ability to succinctly summarise information for external reporting where required, in conjunction with Reporting Teams Encourage innovative thinking and a proactive approach to strategic planning to truly embody and fulfil our Finance purpose of "designing & driving value" WHAT DOES IT TAKE?ESSENTIAL CRITERIA; Hands-on experience in a strategic planning and/or Group environment Prior experience of a role in a matrix managed production or media businesses A demonstrated ability to exercise initiative, judgement and communication from a business perspective to attain positive outcomes Track record of success with synthesising key trends, insights and strategic narratives from data and numbers to inform decision making A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA) or equivalent experience.
Adept at managing numerous stakeholders and telling an insightful financial story to non-finance leaders Experience with improving reporting and processes for clearer actions and insights A convincing and accountable communicator with a track record for successful relationship building DESIRABLE CRITERIA; Knowledge of/ability to build and improve forecasting models and scenario analysis Success with process and reporting improvements, creation of strategic dashboards etc.

Location: Office Base is London Television Centre or Cardiff.
This is a hybrid role and the successful candidate will balance office working with home working.
