Job Description This is a hands-on role, with responsibility and accountability for producing accurate and timely financial reports and forecasts for our companies.
Incorporating review and analysis of variances to forecast & budget, and reporting to management on areas that require attention and need to be addressed to improve the future performance of the business.
To record income, expenditure, financial accounting and management information.
Manage sales ledger process, oversee credit controller who raises sales invoices.
Manage purchase ledger process, payment runs bi-monthly or monthly depending on event cycle, oversee accounts assistant to ensure smooth process.
Work closely with budget holders to manage PO database and event budgets to prevent unauthorized spends.
Undertake analysis for budget holders and assist with planning spends as needed.
To reconcile bank and credit card statements and advance sales balance sheet holding account.
Processing of monthly payroll, ensuring salaries are available to employees by agreed date and all income tax, pension and national insurance payments are paid by due date.
Manage commissions and bonuses due, update biz plan to reflect changes.
Responsibility of all month end processes, balance sheet account reconciliations, payment of invoices and payroll including preparation and posting of journals and nominal posting (including accruals, prepayments, and deferred income).
Intercompany transfers and reconciliations, including liaison with MD regarding intercompany loans, interest and management charges.
To attend meetings when necessary.
Preparation and presentation of Monthly Management Accounts and other reports requested by Head of Finance.
Monitor and review cash flow, including forecasting.
Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns to HMRC for all three companies and ensure any payments are made in time or refunds (if applicable) received.
Assisting in preparation of Year End Accounts and financial statements for all three companies.
Assisting in preparation of annual budget and monthly forecasts, post event flash forecast reports and reports for grant applications.
To support and advise all staff with finance queries.
Attend events and manage on site banking and float requirements, set up PDQ machines and work closely with box office for finance queries.
Ensure finance team (part time accounts assistant and full time credit controller) are working efficiently and assist them with planning outstanding tasks accordingly, especially around month end.
Assisting Head of Finance with ad-hoc requests.
Manage company systems including HR platform Bright.
Essential Requirements: AAT qualified or part qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA) experience will also be considered.
Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, vlookup etc.
Excellent knowledge of Xero.
High attention to details and works very accurately.
Good communicator.
Able to work to deadlines in an organised and timely fashion.
Can conduct meetings with people at all levels of organisation.
Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Desirable Requirements: Experience of working in an events industry.
Xero Certified.
The estimated salary for this role is £50,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
