The Finance Manager role is highly engaging and provides an excellent breadth of exposure to the fast-growing industry and senior stakeholders.
About The Role Act as a business partner providing strategic, timely and accurate advice to management and internal stakeholders on all aspects of technical accounting and structuring for a large-scale project comprising 3 large development sites.
Work within the accounting team to be responsible for the production of management accounts, statutory accounts and technical accounting advice in respect of 9 legal entities of the large-scale project.
Additional requirements will include overseeing the financing of the companies, cash management and planning, quarterly reporting to group, and liaising with auditors and co-investors where appropriate.
Oversee the preparation of the management accounts and coordinate the preparation of annual statutory accounts (together with audit-standard working papers) within strict timelines.
Provide assistance with audit scheduling and resolution of audit queries and work closely with auditors, tax advisors, accounting advisors, and internal departments including group accounting, controlling, project teams, commercial team and the shared service centre.
Have an inquisitive and complex understanding of the cost and income elements and the ability to identify potential issues and challenge assumptions where appropriate.
Attend management meetings, including presentation and discussion of financial reports and liaising with the shared service centre to resolve issues and improve processes.
Conduct regular formal and informal meetings with project controllers to discuss accruals and provide advice on accounting impacts of project actions.
Liaise with tax advisors, auditors and company secretary regarding statutory accounts, audit and tax.
Required Skills And Experience Influencing both internal and external stakeholders.
Self-motivated with good prioritization skills.
Ability to challenge assumptions and theories rather than simply accepting them.
Strong communication skills to discuss financial issues with both non-finance and finance experts, while grasping non-financial issues (e.g., legal and basic technical subject matter).
Able to present information in a clear and concise manner, identifying key information for recipients.
Intermediate level Microsoft Excel skills.
Application of IFRS (required), SAP or equivalent ERP system capabilities (desired), CCH accounts preparation software (desired).
Understanding of IFRS.
Firm business knowledge and awareness of the wider energy industry (desired).
Qualified accountant with a recognized accounting body - ACA, ACCA, CIMA.
