About The Role As the Finance Manager, you'll be responsible for overseeing the financial operations and maintaining accurate financial records across each of our homes.
You'll manage outsourced bookkeeping services, monitor internal audits, and ensure we remain compliant with all financial regulations.
Your work will be essential in ensuring the smooth running of our care services and supporting our mission to deliver high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the Bookkeeper/Finance Assistant and oversee all bookkeeping functions.
Maintain accurate statutory accounting records for the company.
Supervise the Finance Assistant and Book-keeper in managing day-to-day financial operations, including: Issuing invoices to customers and managing credit control.
Overseeing the petty cash process and conducting internal audits.
Managing bank reconciliations and resolving any banking issues.
Ensure monthly payroll reconciliation and payments are completed accurately.
Prepare and deliver monthly financial reports, including Profit & Loss Accounts and Balance Sheets, ensuring full reconciliation between the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers.
Use data analytics to assess staff efficiency, identify compliance issues, and prevent fraud (this process is being phased out and replaced).
Conduct quarterly profitability and expense checks for each home.
Prepare Management Accounts for review with the Finance Director.
Maintain cash forecasting models and provide ongoing data analysis with KPIs.
Support the Finance Director with various projects.
Ensure strict implementation of internal financial controls, focusing on: Accuracy and completeness of invoicing and credit control.
Proper management of cash and bank payments.
Effective handling of contracts, suppliers, and travel expenses.
Facilitate the annual external audit process.
What We're Looking For Qualified accountant (ACCA or equivalent) with at least 5 years of experience.
Experience in Big 4 audit practice is a bonus.
Proven experience in managing a team, with strong performance management skills.
Solid proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
In-depth knowledge of IFRS and FRS 101.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
High attention to detail and an analytical mindset, combined with strong commercial insight.
A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
