You will be helping to assess the Baoighill Group portfolio with the view of improving efficiency and defining a more formal strategy for the future which will include disinvesting and acquisition.
You are a Chartered Accountant who can complete a set of accounts, with an understanding of the nature of businesses.
Ideally you have operated in an environment of many smaller businesses, preferably family grown, and would enjoy supporting the owner to improve efficiency, streamlining the businesses and setting it up for future success.
Responsibilities include: Work with the owner of the business to assess the portfolio and make recommendations Record, report and analyse financial information and metrics to evaluate accounts and identify opportunities for improvement Ensure accuracy in billing and invoicing Prepare detailed financial reports, forecasts, and budgets, ensuring financial targets are achieved and providing insights and recommendations Generate and present regular reports on account status and financial performance Analyse financial reports and metrics to assess performance and advise on direction Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and industry standards and stay updated on industry trends and financial products Identify potential risks associated with accounts and develop mitigation strategies Skills and personal attributes: Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities and work effectively under pressure Excellent communication, stakeholder management and interpersonal skills Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy combined with a strategic mindset Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Proficient in financial software and CRM tools Proactive and self-motivated, with a strong sense of urgency Collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently Experience and qualifications: Account management experience with a strong understanding of financial analysis and reporting, likely from the property, retail and/or hospitality industry Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field Relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, ACCA, CIMA) are a plus Company background The Baoighill Group has its roots in the property market with a dynamic portfolio of historic buildings, student accommodation and commercial properties.
Today the family-owned business consists of a broad range of companies across the educational industry, drinks business, retail and accommodation – primarily in Scotland and the Southwest of England with some presence in the south of Europe.
