About Us Powercargo is a global logistics services provider, specialising in supporting businesses with efficient supply chain management.
Our core services include sea, air, road, and rail freight management, warehousing logistics, customs brokerage, and e-commerce logistics.
As a fast-growing company, we are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join our team and oversee financial operations to ensure smooth and efficient financial processes.
The role is fully remote, home-based, with all necessary office equipment provided by the company.
Note: We will only consider candidates with appropriate experience in the logistics/freight forwarding industry.
Key Responsibilities Oversee and manage the company's financial operations, including A/R, A/P, and payroll functions.
Ensure accuracy and compliance in financial reporting and financial controls.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in a timely manner.
Develop budgets and financial forecasts, with ongoing monitoring and variance analysis.
Lead the preparation for audits, liaising with external auditors as needed.
Oversee the reconciliation of bank transactions and monitor incoming and outgoing payments.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial goals with operational objectives.
Support strategic decision-making with financial insights and reporting.
Manage the financial system in CargoWise One and ensure effective use across the team.
Proactively improve financial processes and implement best practices.
Monitor shared inboxes for financial queries and assist in responding as needed.
Provide leadership and support to the finance team in day-to-day operations and ad-hoc tasks.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise Proven experience as a Finance Manager within the logistics/freight forwarding industry.
Essential: Proficiency with CargoWise One software.
Strong working knowledge of financial and accounting software such as Quickbooks, Xero, or Sage.
Excellent analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work setting.
Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to cross-functional teamwork.
Ability to drive process improvements and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
Benefits and Details Salary: £38,000 - £42,000 p/a Remote working, home-based.
Working hours: Mon-Fri, 08:00-17:00 25 days holiday plus English bank holidays Immediate start is preferred.
