Role Summary Finance Manager: Accounts and Strategy  Finance Full-time Permanent  £69,270  per annum Application deadline: 12pm (midday) on Monday 18 November 2024  About the role: This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role at the British Museum and help shape its future.
As Finance Manager: Accounts and Strategy you will lead and develop a team delivering a professional and commercial financial, planning and management information service that influences and fully supports the strategic and operational priorities of the Museum, with particular responsibility for management and financial accounting.
The Finance Manager: Accounts and Strategy is the recognized authority across the British Museum group and its related entities for accounting, compliance and controls.
The Finance Manager leads the Management Accountants team and the Planning and Management Information Coordinator to provide a first class service to the diverse departments within the British Museum group, identifying and eliminating inefficient and redundant processes and appropriately balancing the pursuit of improvements, efficiency and compliance.
The Finance Manager is responsible for accurate accounting and contributing to major Museum projects with financial implications.
You will manage budgeting and forecasting processes for the Museum, as well as reporting to government.
The Finance Manager plays a key role in developing Museum strategy and operating plans, and producing corporate management information and reporting.
The Finance Manager is also externally recognised as an authority in accounts and strategy.
About you: Educated to degree level and a qualified ACA accountant, or equivalent, you will have experience of working in a multinational, FTSE 250 or 'Big 4' environment, and of staff management.
You will be a strong communicator with excellent judgement, an analytical approach and a strong drive to improve.
You will be able to manage conflicting demands and prioritise workload effectively.
