As the Finance Director, you will oversee the financial strategy, management, and operations of the company, as well as playing a crucial role in shaping and guiding the company's HR strategy. This dual responsibility involves leading the Finance Department to ensure robust financial management, regulatory compliance, and strategic financial planning, while also overseeing the HR function to develop talent strategies and maintain a positive company culture. This role will be reporting directly to the CEO.
Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the Finance Department, including hiring, training, mentoring, and performance reviews of department staff. Be a mentor and a leader to the Finance and HR teams to ensure they can carry out their responsibilities to the required standard. Develop and implement financial policies and procedures, including client money segregation, payments, FX conversions, liquidity management, and capital management. Oversee the preparation and presentation of internal and external financial reports, including managerial and financial accounting, tax reporting, and statutory financial reporting. Manage the company's budgeting process, including annual budget preparation, forecasting, and performance analysis. Manage payroll accounting, including salary calculations, deductions, reconciliations, and compliance with tax legislation. Manage operational relationships with partner banks and financial service providers, assessing financial soundness and managing financial risks. Oversee capital management processes, including capital calculations, reviews, and discussions on capital requirements. Manage internal and external financial and safeguarding audit processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. Maintain relationships with regulatory bodies (e.g., FCA) and ensure compliance with all financial and HR-related regulations. Contribute to the development and enhancement of company products, ensuring alignment with financial objectives. Work closely with other departments to align financial strategies with overall company goals, including KPIs and performance metrics. Oversee the HR function including: Develop and implement talent strategies Developing compensation plans in collaboration with the CEO and department heads Administer or oversee the administration of HR activities Handle employee's queries and issues Develop and monitor HR-related policies and ensure compliance with employment legislation Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a Professional Accounting Qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) preferred. Extensive experience in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, accounting, and reporting as well as Treasury Management. Knowledge of Global banking systems and payment schemes. Established experience and skills in a similar capacity in the banking/fintech/payments space in a director-level role. Proven leadership experience in managing finance teams and HR functions. Strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements, including Client Money rules and regulations. Excellent communication, collaboration, and strategic thinking skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. A can-do attitude to make a positive contribution to the company.
