Finance Business Partner Based in Manchester Hybrid role – 2 days per week in the office We are looking for an experienced Finance Business Partner to join our team, focusing on day-to-day financial activities and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) within an assigned business unit.
You will play a key role in driving operational performance, improving gross margin, and ensuring accountability across financial processes.
Main Duties & Responsibilities: Ownership of Business Unit P&L & FP&A: Manage the Profit & Loss (P&L) and financial forecasting for your business unit, ensuring accuracy and alignment with overall corporate financial goals.
Month-End Close & Valuation: Process month-end close activities for your unit, ensuring accurate valuation of Work in Progress (WIP), accrued income, and direct cost accruals while driving improvements to meet time and quality targets.
WIP Creation & Review: Create and review Work in Progress files to ensure accuracy and timely reporting.
Commercial Proposals: Collaborate with teams to drive new business opportunities and commercial proposals, ensuring alignment with budgeted pricing and profitability guidelines.
Operational Reporting: Support Operations with robust financial reporting to help drive performance improvements.
Annual Budget & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and corporate financial forecasts, driving continuous improvement in quality and timeliness.
Financial Analysis: Provide insights through month-end reviews and financial analysis to assist business leaders in decision-making and operational performance.
Financial Controls & Processes: Implement and review financial controls to improve accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
Capacity & Utilisation: Understand and help drive improvements in resource capacity and utilization within the business unit.
Working Capital Improvements: Collaborate with invoicing and credit control to enhance working capital, streamline processes, and implement best practices.
Finance Initiatives: Lead the implementation of finance initiatives aligned with business priorities, ensuring consistency with the wider organisation.
Ad-Hoc Finance Modelling: Conduct financial modelling for various projects, including business cases and CAPEX investments.
Stakeholder Management: Partner with Operational Management, Client Development, and Heads of Operational Account performance to review contract performance and create action plans to address issues relating to growth and profitability.
Experience & Skills Required: Proven experience in business partnering, with a deep understanding of best practices in finance.
Ability to influence and challenge stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel; Access skills are desirable but not essential.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with both financial and operational teams.
Qualifications Required: Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline.
Qualified CIMA / ACCA / ACA or equivalent professional finance qualification.
