The Team & The RoleAs a Finance Business Partner (with a focus on costs) you will be part of our Finance Team and work directly with the FP&A Lead and Finance Business Partner (Rev), as well as working closely with the Accounting Function and CFO, to make sure Plum is in good financial health and well prepared for scale!
Typical areas of focus will include: budgeting, forecasting, month end management reporting, financial analysis and business case modeling.
The role will fit someone who is hands on, analytical and curious about how to build a business sustainably.
What You Will DoBuild and maintain departmental cost budgets, analyze performance vs budget;Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, becoming a trusted strategic partner;Partner with heads of departments on capacity planning and to identify optimal cost structures across the P&L;Contribute to the financial modeling and budgeting process of Plum and provide input to aid in setting Plum's financial strategy;Support the partnership team and wider business to evaluate the economics and pricing for potential partnerships and ultimately inform business decisions;Lead the month end process, including investor and partner reporting, quarterly board reporting and analyzing key risks and opportunities;Support on periodic updating of the group's ICARAs, recovery and wind-down plans;Work with the data team to improve the accuracy of our forecasting; andEmbrace automation across all processes in FP&A.What We Look ForYou have an ACA/ CIMA/ CFA qualification or equivalent, with strong knowledge of accounting and finance fundamentalsYou have at least 3 years of experience in FP&A or commercial financeYou have a strong analytical background, with a degree in Maths, Economics, Accounting, Business Analytics and/or DataYou have a strong working knowledge of Excel and financial modeling experience and are confident in setting up models and processes from scratchYou have great attention to detail and problem-solving skillsYou are hands on, driven and proactive; you take ownership of your work and can collaborate as a team playerExperience working with an accounting software, such as Xero, is a plusExperience working in fintech is a plusExperience with Looker is a plusExperience analyzing data and working with Data Teams is a plusPlum PerksWe're all in this together!
