Finance AssistantSt Andrew's Hospice SAH Band 2 £21,986 to £23,969 pro rata per annum21 hours per week over 3 or 4 daysWho are we?St Andrew's Hospice is a registered charity providing specialist palliative care for patients with life-limiting conditions which require complex symptom management, and/or end-of-life care.
It is Lanarkshire's specialist hospice and provides multidisciplinary support for patients, their families and carers.
The service is provided completely free of charge for the adult population of North and South Lanarkshire and is open to all without distinction of race, gender or creed.The Hospice values represent our core beliefs and act as our guiding principles at the very heart of all that we do.
Our values are; Human Dignity, Compassion, Justice, Advocacy and Quality.What is the role?We are seeking a detail-orientated, proactive Finance Assistant to join our Finance Team.If you have a passion for numbers, excellent organisational skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you!The main duties include:Ensure mail is opened and correctly distributed on a daily basisInput shop income figures into LedgersDownload, format and post Just Giving Income to LedgersKey income batches to LedgersAssist in a two-system cash count to ensure monies received by the Hospice are accounted for correctly and banked dailyControl and reconciliation of petty cashAssist with the processing of Purchase InvoicesEnsure information is distributed to other departments as required in a clear and accurate fashionEnsure compliance with all relevant legislationEnsure adherence to Hospice policiesAdhoc finance duties upon requestFlexibility is required to cover periods of leaveWhat we expect of you?You will require to have a minimum of four Nat 5 qualifications or an SVQ Level 2 in a relevant subject or equivalent experience.
Previous experience working in a finance role is desirable but not essential.The successful candidate will have proficient IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
This is a busy role therefore the ability to manage multiple deadlines with competing priorities is beneficial.The ability to maintain confidentiality and strong attention to detail are critical to the role.What you can expect from us?We recognise that to continue to provide excellent care and services to patients and families, we need an amazing team around us.
