Finance Assistant Location: Uttoxeter Hours: Monday to Thursday (part time – 24 – 30 hours a week) Hourly rate: £13.12 per hour The role: Our client is seeking a Finance Administrator to join their Finance team on a part-time basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with the Finance Manager and another Finance Assistant, ensuring the smooth operation of all finance-related matters.
The primary responsibility of the role is to provide effective and efficient financial and administrative support to the team, while also contributing to the delivery of high-quality customer service, both internally and externally.
Main duties: Record Sales Ledger entries from source documents and generate and distribute customer statements Follow credit control procedures to ensure timely payment of customer account balances Process customer receipts and reconcile customer accounts Process supplier invoices, reconcile supplier statements, and resolve supplier queries Prepare and distribute supplier remittance advices Provide administrative support including scanning, filing, data entry, answering calls, and handling incoming mail Actively seek opportunities to enhance the efficiency and quality of financial processes Communicate with customers and suppliers by and email, maintaining high levels of customer service Perform bank postings and daily bank reconciliations Record daily turnover to assist with variance analysis Complete credit applications and conduct credit checks for new customers Process payment runs Support company sustainability efforts by recording carbon monitoring data Manage and reconcile petty cash About you: Experience using accounting software AAT qualification or part-qualified status is desirable Strong understanding of accounting principles, either through relevant experience or studying for an accounting qualification Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) at an intermediate level, with knowledge of lookups and pivot tables preferred Ability to input accounting data into the system quickly and accurately Excellent verbal and written communication skills Confident, resourceful, and proactive Ability to work well within a team in a busy office environment, maintaining focus and high concentration levels Strong time management skills with the ability to effectively manage and prioritize workload Willingness to take responsibility and use initiative when necessary Flexible and adaptable to changes in procedures and practices, eager to improve skills Willing to take on additional tasks as required with a flexible attitude Benefits: Part time – 24-30 hours per week Wide range of employee perks A commitment to equality and safety of all employees Pension scheme Interested?
