About the Role As a Field Service Engineer , you will play a critical role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing cutting-edge end-of-line packaging and automation equipment.
Your expertise will help our customers minimize downtime and ensure their production lines operate at peak efficiency.
Key Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on end-of-line automation equipment, including conveyors, palletizers, case packers, stretch wrappers, and robotics.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and PLC-related issues to ensure smooth operation.
Manage the sales and ordering of spare parts and other essential items for customers to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance Conduct software updates and parameter adjustments on automated machinery.
Provide on-site training and technical support to customers, enhancing their understanding of the equipment.
Maintain an organized spare parts inventory and manage tools required for service tasks.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and perform risk assessments during site visits.
Complete accurate service reports, timesheets, and customer communication logs.
Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering and sales, to address customer needs and recommend system upgrades or optimizations.
Who You Are Essential Qualifications & Experience: A strong background in mechanical, electrical, or electro-mechanical engineering (formal qualifications preferred).
Hands-on experience with industrial machinery, preferably in automation or packaging systems.
Proficiency in diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and PLC control issues.
Comfortable working independently in customer environments, managing priorities and deadlines.
Strong computer skills, including familiarity with troubleshooting software and tools.
Willingness to travel extensively, including overnight stays when required.
Driven to identify sales opportunities and motivated by earning additional commission.
Preferred (but not essential): Experience working with end-of-line packaging equipment.
Knowledge of robotics, servo drives, and automated control systems.
Familiarity with PLC programming and diagnostics (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley).
Test and inspection qualifications or equivalent certifications.
