Field Service Engineer – Process Instrumentation & Automation Sheffield, M62 Surrounding area , North West Role + Responsibilities for a Field Service Engineer: The role requires servicing, calibrating and fault diagnostics/repair of a range of electronic and mechanical process control instrumentation.
Main responsibilities for a Field Service Engineer: To commission, calibrate and repair onsite instrumentation To work in all industries within the Company customer database To liaise with the Service Coordinators to ensure that all spares, tools and paperwork is available to enable them to carry out their duties To liaise with customers when required prior to executing the job to ensure full understanding of the nature of the job and also to advise estimated time of arrival and of any delays which may be anticipated To adhere to site safety rules, permit to work systems and carry out risk assessments To work to local and industry procedures and to comply with industry codes of practice and the Company quality management system Requirement to travel throughout the UK, overseas and possibly offshore Provide services and support to other departments and customers as deemed appropriate by the Services Manager Timely and accurate job reporting in accordance with the Company service report forms Qualification + Profile for a Field Service Engineer: Ideally qualified to ONC/HNC level, preferably in Electronics or Instrumentation of control Recognised apprenticeship in the above disciplines is ideal or a minimum of 2 years' Process Control experience Problem solving and diagnostic skills Process Instrumentation or similar experience would be preferred To be highly motivated and can work on own initiative or as part of a team A flexible approach to working activities Excellent communication and organisational skills The ability to develop good working relationships with customers Excellent punctuality and timekeeping A clean driving licence Benefits + Perks for a Field Service Engineer: The security of working for an international family-owned company who are a global driver within measurement instrumentation.Company car (hybrid option) or Lease car / Car allowance Performance-based remuneration Excellent training facilities and personal development plans Family social events throughout the year Flexible working Excellent pension scheme
