They are looking for an engineer ideally with Chromatography engineering experience, but they are also open to Laboratory Technicians with Chromatography experience too!
Responsibilites: To have a proficient knowledge of all the Shimadzu Spectroscopy products with emphasis on the relevant Service Schedules available for our customers.
To work with UV / FTIR / TO and with time and experience also move on to cover ICP-OES / ICP-MS / AA / ED Work as part of an experienced team offering first class customer support.
Perform Installations of New instrumentation, followed by Customer Training.
Preventative Maintenance visits usually on an annual basis.
Breakdowns / Troubleshooting with 48 Hour Response times Validation of instrumentation, IQOQ / PQ Testing.
Reporting of all Service jobs using SAP in a timely manner Maintaining accurate Inventory of Spare Parts in Car Stock Based on the M5 corridor, covering Midlands/Southwestern England mainly and prepared to travel to all parts of the UK on occasions.
Any other appropriate and reasonable task that may be required from time to time upon request of the company.
Person Spec: Experience within a field service environment in the laboratory instrument industry (Minimum 3 years).
Knowledge and experience of LC, LCMS & HPLC as well as any other techniques are an advantaged, for example LCMS, UV, FTIR, EDX, AA, TOC, MTM etc.
(Minimum 3 years experience) Knowledge and experience of Microsoft applications and PC hardware including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook, LANs and VPN etc.
Carry out installations, planned maintenance, validation and repair activities in their region and support the rest of the UK when required.
Effective and demonstrable interpersonal skills A current, clean UK driving license and passport.
Occasional travel overseas usually for training.
Degree/HND/HNC or equivalent is preferred.
Candidates with other qualifications will be considered assuming experience and knowledge criteria provide a close match.
