Job Title: Field Service Engineer (HGV & Bus) Location: Luton (North of M25) Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent Salary: £50k £60k (dependent on experience) Work Hours: Monday Thursday, 8am to 5pm, Friday 8am 3:30pm (41-hour working week) Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer with a background in HGV and Bus maintenance .
The ideal candidate will be based in and around Luton, supporting customers across areas including Oxford and Norwich.
This role involves providing field service support for the Commercial Vehicles Division , focusing on Electric Drive and Diwa bus transmission systems .
The position is home-based, with travel required to customers and third-party sites.
Benefits Package: Company vehicle Annual bonus (pro rata on year of joining) 20 days holiday (pro rata on joining) Pension (3% EE, 6% ER) Life Assurance Salary/Bonus Sacrifice Private Health Care and Dental Health Care Cycle to work scheme Key Responsibilities: Provide field service support for the Commercial Vehicles Division, including Electric Drive and Diwa bus transmission systems .
Conduct diagnostics and repairs at customer sites and 3rd party locations.
Perform major unit exchanges and provide support for OEMs .
Assist with new product introductions and offer technical support to the sales team.
Maintain and build strong relationships with customers and their representatives.
Liaise with Health & Safety and Field Service Managers to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Work efficiently to minimize downtime of customer assets and ensure all tasks are completed safely and professionally.
Submit detailed engineering reports and manage stock levels and company vehicle maintenance.
Provide product knowledge and expertise to colleagues and customers.
Participate in unsociable hours or additional working hours as needed to meet business requirements.
Complete necessary training and maintain up-to-date knowledge of safety procedures and products.
Requirements: Completed engineering apprenticeship as a minimum; Level 5 qualification or higher preferred.
Field service and engineering background , with experience in HGV and bus systems.
Strong knowledge of electric vehicles and diagnostic capabilities .
Good IT skills and a full UK driving license.
Must pass a Drugs and Alcohol Medical before starting.
