Join our Family Time Service as a Transport Worker, where you will play a vital role in supporting children to have family time with their parents.
About the Role As a Transport Worker, you will be responsible for transporting babies and children to and from family time sessions at our Family Time Centre in Swinton.
The role will involve travelling to various locations within and outside the City of Salford.
Your working hours will be on a rota basis, provided weekly, and may vary.
Shifts will fall between 8:00 am and 7:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
Flexibility is essential to accommodate the needs of families and the service.
This role requires the highest standards of safeguarding and professionalism, ensuring that children are transported safely and with care.
Key Responsibilities Transport babies and children to and from family time sessions.
Ensure the safety and well-being of children during transportation, following safeguarding guidelines.
Communicate effectively and empathetically with children, parents, and colleagues.
Maintain accurate records of journeys, schedules, and any incidents.
Collaborate with the Family Time Service team to support family time sessions and meet the needs of children and families.
We Welcome Applications From People Who Have: A full UK driving licence, access to their own car, and business insurance.
An understanding of safeguarding principles and the ability to apply them in practice.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to connect with children and families.
Empathy, understanding, and a child- and family-focused approach to work.
Additional Requirements Please be aware that this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and that you will be required to meet the cost of the DBS check currently £49.50.
The payment for this will be deducted from your first four months' salary payments at a rate of £12.38 per month.
If you do not commence employment for any reason but the DBS has been processed, you will be sent an invoice for the payment of £49.50.
If you have lived or worked abroad for 3 months or more in the last 5 years or 12 months or more (whether continuously or in total) in the last 10 years whilst aged 18 or over, please refer to the link below for details for how to obtain your Certificates of Good Character.
