Family Support Worker

Lone working within an appropriate setting including families homes schools community settings.
Expectation to work evenings and weekends as required.
This post is covered by the Government s Code of Practice on the English Language Fluency Duty for public sector workers.
The Post holder will be required to communicate verbally with customers and provide advice and/or information in accurate spoken English.
The council operates customer focused hybrid ways of working.
This is subject to change and you may be required to work from other locations short or long term.
Ability to demonstrate effective organisational skills.
Ability to prioritise own work and meet deadlines, demonstrating effective time management skills.
Ability to work as part of the team.
Proven ability to demonstrate the skills and strategies required to assess and intervene with young people and their families.
Ability to devise and implement individual plans with young people and families based upon effective assessments.
Ability and ideally previous experience of, writing comprehensive, succinct and analytical reports for panels and meetings.
Ability to communicate effectively with a range of people in a range of forums, face to face, over the phone and in writing.
Demonstrate the ability to chair meetings and follow up agreed actions.
Ability to deliver one to one intervention and group-based interventions.
Demonstrate a willingness to undertake appropriate training and development.
The ability to communicate verbally with customers and provide advice and/or information in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
IT skills sufficient to produce data, information and reports using Microsoft word, TEAMS, power point, Excel, and email.
Experience of working with Children and young people 0 - 19 is essential.
Experience of working with children, young people with SEND.
Experience of working effectively with family who have complex needs, or at risk of becoming a child in care, is essential.
Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary setting would be an advantage.
Experience of delivering evidence-based interventions and programme.
Evidence of continuous professional development (where applicable).
Demonstrate an understanding of safeguarding and vulnerability.
Demonstrate an understanding of risk management.
Demonstrate an understanding of guidance in relation to Early help.
Understanding of promoting culturally sensitive services to diverse communities.
Demonstrate a commitment to anti oppressive practice.
Demonstrate an understanding of child and adolescent development.
