INTERNAL ONLY (DCC Employees Only)About the ServiceFollowing a recent reshape across the service, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join Devon County Council's Family Intervention Team.
The Family Intervention Team (FIT) is Devon's internal Level 3 targeted early help support team that operates across the entire county supporting children aged 0-18 years.
The FIT team will support families to build on their strengths while helping them to overcome some of the concerns, difficulties, challenges, or obstacles they may have in their lives.
It uses a whole family approach involving everyone in the family network.
FIT aims to reduce the need for statutory intervention, improve better outcomes and ensure all children and young people are able to thrive, but also to identify those families where change and improvement are more difficult to achieve and sustain.About the roleFamily Practitioners are based in locality teams.
They provide a targeted family intervention to reduce multiple and complex needs within vulnerable families in need of Early Help.The quality of the relationship between a practitioner and family members is one of the best predictors of improved outcomes.
FIT Family Practitioners aim to achieve the best possible outcomes for families by working alongside them, establishing a relationship whereby the family are listened to, respected and are actively involved.We work with the family as a whole in their own homes, including absent parents and wider family members.
