Factory Grinding Operative

TITLE: Grinding Operative DEPARTMENT: Roughing Department REPORTING TO: Departmental Supervisor and Section Charge Hand JOB PURPOSE SUMMARY: Precision cutting and shaping components for optical assemblies KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: To use machines or manual wheels to grind optical materials to sizes stated by instructions using a variety of grinding media.
To cut and slice optical materials to sizes stated by instructions.
To use measuring equipment provided, including micrometres, callipers, rules and set squares, to verify size and angular requirements; ensuring components meet required tolerances.
To work within Company Health and Safety Policy and guidelines; carrying out daily maintenance of equipment used and reporting issues to supervisor.
To work within Company Quality Assurance systems, documenting activities as required by Production Work Sheets.
