Learning Support Assistant The Headteacher and SENCO of an over-subscribed Primary School located in Preston are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to support children within the Reception (EYFS) class.

The successful candidate will have: The ability to relate well with children and adults and have a positive outlook.
Good Numeracy, Literacy and Phonics skills.
A good understanding of early child development and learning.
Willingness to undertake various training to meet the needs of individual pupils. Experience of working or caring for children within a Nursery or Primary setting.
Up to date knowledge of child protection and safeguarding procedure.
A keen interest in working within the classroom and encouraging children to flourish through supporting them during lessons.
Excellent people skills and the capability to follow the direction of the class teacher.
Excellent role model to young children and colleagues at all times whilst maintaining a mature and professional manner.
Responsibilities of a Teaching Assistant: Supporting children within the classroom and preparing resources under the supervision of the class teacher.
Following school behaviour policies and using positivity to manage behaviour.
Assisting the class teacher and reporting back regarding any changes in behaviour and pupil progress.
Following ECHP's (Educational and Health Care Plan) in place for specific individuals.
Undertaking general classroom activities such ensuring a clean and safe learning environment.
Available Training: School leaders encourage Continuous Professional Development and believe in life-long learning.
As a result, Senior staff regularly lead 'in house' CPD (continuous professional development) and the successful candidates will also have access to regular Teaching Personnel courses such as: TEAM TEACH, Effective Behaviour Management, Understanding Autism, and Learning Support.
