This role will support the execution of the External Corporate Communications strategy, as well as helping to promote the team's work within the business.
Reporting to the Head of External Communications, this role has a broad scope; the successful candidate will be responsible for helping deliver high quality content across all channels, building key relationships across the business, owning and maintaining key best-practice processes and keeping the team organised.
Role overview:   As part of this role, you'll be responsible for: Managing a busy press office (inbox) and be first point of contact for inbound media enquiries Drafting impactful content for all comms channels in line with the digital first strategy - assets ranging from press releases, reactive media comments and social content  Maintaining and updating the corporate digital channels including the Currys plc website Daily monitoring of traditional and social media coverage on a range of topics, flagging issues to colleagues in the communications team Preparation of monthly activity reports and quarterly media/digital monitoring reports Responsible for the overseeing of professional processes in the External Communications team including:The updating of media statements and issues tracker, cross comms planning grid, imagery, collating of news coverage to be sent to appropriate stakeholders Leading the awards entry process, identifying key awards to enter, advising departments on awards to enter, and copy editing/proof-reading their submissions Arranging key media and public affairs events and supporting key financial reporting days     You will need: 2-4 years of corporate communications experience within a large organisation or leading communications agency Degree or equivalent  Strong Microsoft Office skills Confident communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skills Effective organisational, time management skills to be able to prioritise and work towards deadlines, with the ability to multitask Skilled at using social media, and digital content creation to advance business priorities and amplify the corporate narrative Some knowledge and experience of PR and the media preferred A passion for/understanding of current affairs, social media and retail   We know our people are the secret to our success.
