5 miles apart)You will be working Tuesday to Saturday - 05:00 - 15:00.Must have a full UK driving license (Securitas will provide a vehicle for company use).Must be able to commute within one hour of site.You must also be able to home kennel your Securitas provided working dog.Job OpportunityPurposeExplosives Detection Dog Handler (EDD) is responsible for delivering an explosives detection dog screening capability to the aviation sector as one of Securitas' Protective Specialist Services. You will deliver a service in line with UK legislation, Dept for Transport regulations and Civil Aviation Authority & Securitas procedures to counter terrorist and/or criminal activity relating to aviation activities.Your Responsibilities will include:      To screen cargo in accordance with UK regulations utilising technical & canine methodsTo maintain the operational capability of the EDDConduct on the job training & continuation trainingDeploy when required in support of the wider BusinessProduce and maintain records associated with EDD trainingMaintain rigid & documented control over all training aidsTo maintain a positive relationship with animal under his/her controlDiarise all events and IncidentsManage customer requests to a satisfactory resolution and supply feedback to all relevant partiesBe the lead on matters Health and Safety relating to the task, ensure the contracted site is compliant with all regulationsTo ensure compliance with British Standards, ACS requirements, Canine SOP'sTo proactively promote and enhance the company name and reputation to a wide audience of existing customers and our service partners.Responsible for ensuring that all incidents are reported in compliance with company policy and procedure.Ensuring understanding and demonstrable implementation of the Values of Integrity; Vigilance and HelpfulnessEssential SkillsEssential Criteria:Right to work in the UK with a 5-year checkable historyValid UK Driving LicenceAbility to work cooperatively in a Team environmentAbility to communicate with customers and colleagues at all levelsGood observation skills and attention to detailGood written and verbal communication Desirable:Previous Home Office/MoD dog handling experienceQualified security dog handler (any discipline)Previous experience in the aviation sectorDE&ISecuritas is an all-inclusive employer, and we encourage individuality within our company.
