Experienced Chef - York

Position: Care Home Chef Salary: £31,590 Location: York The Essentials: Hours : 2 x 8 hour shifts(till 3pm), 12 hour shifts finish at 7pm Experience : Care home experience not required Key Responsibilities : Team support, guest service, shift management, operations, stock control Key Responsibilities: Plan, prepare, and cook nutritious meals tailored to residents' dietary needs, including allergies and health conditions.
Create meal plans based on residents' preferences and nutritional requirements.
Ensure high standards in food preparation and presentation, maintaining quality across all meals.
Collaborate with care staff to adjust menus based on dietary assessments and feedback.
Manage stock levels, place orders, and oversee supply deliveries.
Maintain a clean and safe kitchen, following food hygiene regulations.
Oversee kitchen staff, providing training, support, and motivation.
Stay current on food safety laws, ensuring compliance.
Monitor portion control and reduce food waste to ensure cost-effectiveness.
Requirements: Chef experience (care home or healthcare experience is a plus).
Understanding of dietary needs, especially for elderly residents.
Food hygiene certificate (Level 2 or higher preferred).
Knowledge of health and safety regulations in kitchen operations.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
