South London Coroner's Court – Executive Officer Location: South London Coroner's Court, Davis House, Robert Street, Croydon, CR0 1QQ. This role is predominantly Court-based with limited opportunities for home working.
Hours per week: 36 per week, though applications for job-sharing and part-time working are encouraged. Please note that Court hours are normally 8am to 4pm.

About South London Coroner's Court: Coroners investigate certain deaths in their jurisdiction that are deemed to be unnatural, violent, or where the cause is unknown. The South London Coroner's Court serves the four London boroughs of Bexley, Bromley, Croydon and Sutton, and Croydon Council is the lead authority responsible for providing resources and staffing to support the Coroners and the running of the court.
About the Role: We are seeking a proactive and self-directed Executive Officer to provide exceptional support to the Senior Coroner. As an executive support 'partner,' you will play a crucial role in facilitating the achievement of the Senior Coroner's priorities and objectives, providing administrative support including managing a complex diary, liaising with colleagues across the Court, and overseeing key projects and programmes.
Key Responsibilities: Provide executive support to the Senior Coroner, including diary management, preparing briefings, and following up on key actions.Conduct self-directed research and draft responses to enquiries and complaints.Take an executive overview of work planning and tracking of key workstreams across the Court to support the delivery of the Senior Coroner's priorities.Build and maintain relationships with Assistant Coroners, Coroner's Officers, other colleagues across the Court and key partners such as Pathologists and Chief Coroner's Office.About you: You will have exceptional organisational and communication skills, with experience of managing high-volume and evolving workloads. While experience working in a Court isn't necessary, you will have a good track record of working in executive support roles and being able to manage competing priorities.
Having in-depth experience of diary management, a solid ICT skillset and a proven track record of proactive problem-solving and customer care are key to succeeding in this role.
