Role : Telematics Engineer
Salary : £35k + (Competitive based on experience)
Location : Southampton
About the Company Our client, is a UK-based company specialising in vehicle technology solutions, with operations extending to the USA.
They provide and install advanced vehicle communication, safety, and security systems, serving sectors such as transport, logistics, and emergency services.
Key Responsibilities :
Design, develop, and maintain telematics systems and software for vehicles.
Install and configure telematics devices in fleet vehicles.
Diagnose and resolve telematics hardware and software issues.
Perform routine maintenance and updates on telematics systems.
Integrate telematics solutions with existing vehicle systems and networks.
Provide technical support and training to customers and internal teams.
Conduct data analysis from telematics systems to provide actionable insights.
Collaborate with suppliers and clients to ensure telematics solutions meet specific requirements.
Travel offsite to clients and suppliers across the UK, with occasional international travel.
Key Skills and Experience :
3+ years of experience in telematics system installation and maintenance.
Strong diagnostic abilities in both electrical and software systems.
Experience with telematics platforms and cloud-based analytics.
Familiarity with vehicle networking protocols (CAN, LIN, etc.).
Proficient use of diagnostic and testing tools for telematics hardware.
Highly organised and motivated with excellent time management skills.
Strong communication skills with a high attention to detail.
Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint).
Understanding of Health & Safety protocols and PPE requirements.
Physical fitness for manual handling and installation tasks.
