Taylor Woodrow is the sole provider of Lot 3 - Western Geotechnical Off-Track and Drainage - as part of Network Rail Wales and Western region's £2bn programme of works.
The Lot stretches from London Paddington to Penzance and involves the ongoing maintenance & renewals programme of civil engineering assets such as embankments, cuttings, scour protection, and earthworks drainage.
As part of this project, we are currently looking to recruit an Estimator who is experienced in preparing tenders and reviewing documents of information as part of the tender / project strategy Duties: Coordinates quantity take-off as required; Supports the engagement of designers during the tender phase; Manages supply chain enquiries and analyses quotations; Issues material/equipment buying to Supply Chain colleagues, and analyses quotations; Completes base pricing in the approved estimating system; Ensures that pricing reflects the requirements of the Supply Chain, Materials and Plant Suppliers; Ensures pricing aligned to delivery programmes and the methodology and productivity that the planning and engineering teams have agreed; Prices alternative designs, methods and programmes to promote Taylor Woodrow's innovative and competitive edge; Supports with Client negotiation meetings as required; Reviews the suitability of the Price Adjustment for Inflation mechanism and assesses any under / over recovery provision; Prices Tender Risk and Opportunity Schedule; Review tender evaluation criteria and develops winning strategies; Prices the Fee % in accordance with the Finance Instructions; Prepares tender review documentation for TG3 and TG4 (pricing); Prices tender settlement adjustments; Prepares Risk Committee documentation as required; Completes pricing submission documents; Person Specification Relevant degree qualification or HNC Experience in construction and ideally rail Fully competent with carrying out measurements, takes-off and first principle calculations Fully competent with package analysis following initial tender enquiries to ensure no scope gap
