The successful candidate will be Responsiblefor ensuring safe systems of work are maintained inline with HTM and recognisedcodes of practice by carrying out Authorised Person Duties for Lifts,Ventilation Systems, Working at Height, Water Systems and Pressure Systems(this list is not exhaustive) following training, assessment, and formalappointment by the Trust.Theywill continue to develop elements of other skills, reaching levels offlexibility and competence to enable them to achieve and apply the abilitywhere required.
Responsible for the safe maintenance, assembly,dismantling and repair of equipment others may use.The chosen candidate will form part of a dynamicteam committed to pushing the boundaries, working together to achieve thedesired results and the best outcome for our patients.
You will assist work oncomplex systems, carry out dynamic Risk assessments, work autonomously asrequired, organising and rectifying reactive works and carrying out statutoryplanned maintenance Main duties of the job Thesuccessful candidate will be able to Undertake condition surveys, evaluatinginspection reports and perform the duties of a Clerk of Works to overseecapital work across the Trust as directed by management, ensuring compliancewith Trust safety standards, procedures and specifications.Planand organise major interruptions, maintenance activities and manage work ofcontractors and directly employed labour.
Provide practical training to othersand evaluates work.Managedirectly employed labour in line with all relevant Trust Policies, carryoutdisciplinary and attendance management investigations providing detailedinvestigation/management reports.Deputisefor Estates Manager (Operations) on the full range of management duties as wellas providing technical advice to other Estates Staff, Senior Managers, ClinicalColleagues and 3rd Party Contractors.Workingto standards laid down in Trust policies and legislation to provide a safe andsupportive environment for patients, staff and visitors.Therole can be challenging but rewarding and is one of the most important in termsof both patient and staff contact.

Job description Job responsibilities The successful candidate will Manage and oversee the installation, maintenance, servicing and repair of the full range of Estates Services equipment.
Perform work including activities which require comparison of a range of options, complex facts requiring analysis to resolve technical issues in complex and multifaceted equipment / situations.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential HNC/HND in a Mechanical, Electrical or Building Discipline or equivalent experience in a building services/estates management environment.
Experience Essential Good Communication skills Ability to work unsupervised and autonomously Ability to plan and organise own workload Previous experience in managing directly employed staff and contractors working on breakdowns and PPM on technical mechanical / electrical or building disciplines found in a hospital environment.
Desirable Working in a acute Hospital Environment, HTM 06, Nurse call systems, BMS-Systems, Fire Alarms, HBNs A detailed knowledge of health technical memoranda and the ability to give comprehensive advice and guidance on the design, installation and operation of specialised building and engineering technology Experience of working in an acute Hospital Environment: Familiar with Healthcare Technical Memorandums (HTMs) and HTM-06 (electrical safety), nurse call systems, computer-based Building Management System Skills & Behaviours Essential Flexible and approachable.
Able to work as part of a team and co-ordinate work with other trades.
Understands and demonstrates the importance of effective communication with department heads.
