Job summary We are growing our Estates Team in Carlisle, Cumbria and are looking for a Building Estates Officer to join us!
You will play a key part in ensuring that all facilities and buildings are not only well-maintained but also meet safety and compliance standards.
This role is key for all our service users, staff and visitors.

Main duties of the job Your role will be to manage, implement and be accountable for Building maintenance, and legislation compliance as well as involvement in Capital Projects and minor works schemes in designated Trust properties of the CNTW Group.
There is potential to earn more, with enhancements offered for weekend work and on-call duties, this can be up to £ more - come and chat to us to find out more.

Person Specification Experience Essential Extensive previous general experience in service, maintenance, and repair of all general building services and engineering trades Extensive experience of building fabric maintenance and repair Significant post qualification experience, use best practice and current methods and industry standards for maintenance Desirable Experience of operational management of large healthcare sites Skills and Knowledge Essential The ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications without supervision and translate that information into an understandable/workable format for both trade staff and non-technical colleagues Desirable Knowledge of contractual procedures and working within standing financial instructions relating to minor capital projects To understand the inter-relationship between various maintenance crafts Must be prepared to be flexible when dealing with inconsistent workloads A good understanding of the clinical services provided by the Company A good understanding of Information Technology in relation to Estates Education and Qualifications Essential A HNC/HND or equivalent Level 4/5 in a construction related field such as Architectural Technology, Building Studies, Construction Management Desirable Served a recognised apprenticeship in an appropriate discipline and have an in-depth understanding of Estates services in a hospital environment.
Degree in a construction related field such as Architectural Technology or Construction Project management or equivalent A minimum of 5 GCSE's or equivalent to include English and Maths Meet the mobility requirements of the role Recognised training certificate in autoCAD drafting software
