As a Security Assistant you will play a pivotal role in the success of our students by:Providing support to the Estates management team of the Bedford College Group, by promoting a safe, secure and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors.Responsibilities involves the protection of persons, property and provision of crime.
The post will provide support to the Estates management team of the Bedford College Group, by promoting a safe, secure and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors.Ensuring a professional, customer orientated and value for money service to the college community.Ensuring the protection of persons, property and provision of crime.Completing routine patrols of the assigned campus to ensure the maintenance of good order in the premises, and to monitor behaviour on site.
This includes internal and external patrols.Responding and assisting with different types of emergencies; first aid, fire alarms, bomb alerts, floods, gas leaks.Responding to reports of intruders on site and other crime related incidents.
Protecting the college property against loss, theft and damage.Undertaking first aid training and be a college first aider.About you:SIA training & licenceLiteracy and communication skills and have excellent verbal and written EnglishMinimum of 1 year's work experience in securityExperience of working in a customer focussed environmentWilling to obtain a basic level of health and safety knowledgeExperience of working with the public and experience of working with young people.Ability, tact and diplomacy to deal with people, including senior staff, students and visitors, in all circumstances, including emergencies and times of stress.Ability to work on own initiative and to support and assist team members.Current clean valid full driving licence.
Access to a vehicle & ability to work at all College sites.Ability to be contacted by telephone, occasionally at short notice.
