The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service would like to invite applications for the post of an Equipment Support Operative (ESO), based at our Cambuslang Asset Resource Centre (ARC) on a permanent basis.
This is an opportunity to progress your career working on a variety Auxiliary Equipment that Support the Frontline Service Delivery to Communities throughout Scotland,This is a full-time post, working 35 hours per week over a compressed 4 day working pattern.
However, applications from individuals seeking to work on a part time, job share or flexible working basis would be considered.
The successful candidate will be required to work in a busy Workshop, carrying out the Servicing and Maintenance requirements on a large portfolio of auxiliary equipment that is carried on our Operational Fire Appliances.
This equipment ranges from Operational Fire Service Ladders, Lifejackets and Hydraulic Rescue Equipment along with various other Tools & Equipment.The Minimum requirement would be 2 years' experience working in an industrial workshop or Motor Trade/ Small plant or equivalent workshop environment, and to hold a full valid driving licence.Applicants are required to carry out all tasks in line with the Services Health & Safety Policies and Procedures and update and maintain the Scottish Fire & Rescues equipment data bases electronically and on paper-based format.Full details of the role and our recruitment process can be found in the attached information pack.
Salary on appointment will normally be at the lower salary point, with progression subject to regular review - in line with the SFRS performance appraisal arrangements.
