Environmental Advisor

The role will report to the Head of Operations and will become a key member of the Operations team being responsible for the ISO14001 certified Environmental Management System, driving forward resource efficiency and circularity improvements across the business and ensuring compliance assurance with related permits and licenses.
Key Responsibilities; Develop and maintain the environmental management system (EMS) across the two companies, working closely with the Health and Safety Manager on the wider integrated system.
Tasked with identifying and implementing the most sustainable methods for product reuse.
Maintenance and continual development of environmental permits/ licences e.g.
Waste Management Exemptions, Waste Carriers Licences Coordinate and oversee effective waste management activities across the two businesses including compliance with transfrontier shipment requirements and making improvements to circularity within the companies.
Identify, implement and maintain solutions to maintain compliance and deliver continual environmental improvement (e.g.
in areas of waste, water, energy, resource use).
Ensure effective carbon planning arrangements are in place across the business Maintain and develop systems for tracking environmental performance data, as needed (e.g.
energy consumption, waste generation, chemicals use) Review and improve environmental procedures and other environmental management tools as required.
Facilitate inspections and audits of the business, including at client sites as required.
Develop and deliver training programmes on various environmental aspects as needed.
Occasional out of hours work where the need arises.
Key Qualifications/Requirements: A primary degree in Environmental/Engineering/Sustainability or related discipline is required.
Demonstrate previous working experience, knowledge and understanding of environmental compliance assurance, waste management and ISO14001 environmental management systems including delivering environmental performance improvement.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; with ability to engage & interact readily with personnel at levels.
Good report writing skills.
A problem-solving mind set with good attention to detail.
A team player with ability to work independently and use initiative.
A reliable individual, with good organisational skills & proven timekeeping.
Experience in working to identify resource matching/ industrial symbiosis for waste materials (Desirable) Understanding of IT based environmental monitoring and communication technology (Desirable) Skills: Experience working with Power BI Experience in a Similar Environment,H&S Benefits: Flexible working (option to work one day a week BUPA Wellbeing Aviva Private Healthcare Company Pension
