The RoleThe post holder will report to the Head of Digital Governance. The post holder will be responsible for providing a co-ordination, documentation and design service in relation to Digital systems, ensuring alignment with both organisational goals and the Digital strategy. The post holder will play a pivotal role in the design of application system arrangements within the Digital technical environment. Ensuring that application system arrangements are secure and resilient and in keeping with and further the implementation of the Digital strategy. The post holder will be a point of contact within Digital for issues related to application function and proposed changes ensuring that the outcome of such requests are consistent with local and national and NHSL Digital strategy delivery. She/he will also be responsible for producing and keeping up-to-date all Digital technical design, architectural policy and specification documentation with a view to optimising the IT environment.
What we'll need you to bringRelevant and extensive IT experience gained through working within an IM&T setting at a senior level, in the areas of IT Infrastructure and or Applications management.Degree in information technology or a related field, such as computer science; or equivalent.Experience in infrastructure planning and implementation.Excellent analytical and technical skills.Strong leadership skills.Practical experience in managing hardware and software applications and solutions in medium to large organisations.Hands-on experience in IT project management with formal processes.Must have sound experience in the architecture design and the operations of the high availability environment.Broad knowledge of the trends in technologies and the applicability of these technologies.Ability to quickly digest new technologies.Ability to communicate well with both technical and non-technical staff.Ability to determine and advise on the alignment of emerging technologies with the business objectives.Excellent planning and organisational skills.Knowledge of ITIL and formal project management methodologies (such as PRINCE2) is highly desirable, but not mandatory.Contract typePermanent

Location and Working PatternThis role will be based in Digital Services (eHealth) within Kirklands - NHSL Headquarters.
The working pattern for this role is Monday-Friday 9-5pm.
