Our client, a breakthrough tech start-up in Sheffield, UK, is searching for an Engineering Projects Leader who can steer the development of next-gen sensor technology.
Join a team transforming the future of LIDAR, low-latency communications, and advanced 3D imaging.
As an Engineering Projects Leader, you'll join an engineering team focused on groundbreaking product development for applications in LIDAR, greenhouse gas sensing, defense, and security systems.
Your role will be pivotal in driving projects from prototypes through to final product delivery, ensuring compliance with internal and customer requirements, and working with teams across engineering, sales, and management to bring these revolutionary technologies to market.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and execute engineering projects, creating detailed plans, managing timelines, and ensuring projects are on track.
Translate customer requirements into engineering specifications in partnership with sales and marketing teams.
Identify and manage risks and roadblocks, developing mitigation strategies to keep projects on course.
Manage budgets, resources, and collaborate with third-party suppliers to deliver both prototypes and final products.
Serve as the primary point of contact for engineering support, interfacing with stakeholders, and championing design and development processes for opto-electronic modules.
Drive continuous improvement across the engineering team, refining processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Key Qualifications: Previous experience in project management, ideally within a startup or fast-paced environment.
Strong foundation in electronics or systems engineering with expertise in system-based design and development.
Proven success in leading multiple engineering projects to completion, with budget management and resource planning experience.
Outstanding leadership and communication skills with the ability to collaborate with multi-functional teams.
A proactive approach to problem-solving, with strong risk mitigation abilities.
Eligibility to work in the UK and willingness to travel internationally when required.

25 days of annual leave, plus bank holidays.
On-site work requirement of 4 days per week in Sheffield.
