Job Description Roles and Responsibilities Serve as the technical leader/manager to develop a scope of work and plan schedule and monitor engineering activities for customer projects.
Provide technical leadership and interface with Proposal Management, Cost Estimating, Partners, Customers, GE Product Management, Sourcing, Engineering sub-contractors.
Hold direct people management responsibility including staffing and performance development.
Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.
Project Management Responsibilities for executing projects; managing the technical scope, schedule and budget whilst guiding the team to ensure the quality of the project outcomes.
Have knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market Use technical experience and analytical thinking.
Use multiple internal and external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
Explain information; develop skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field.
Convey performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
Qualifications / Requirements An appropriate degree or HND in a Technical or Engineering based discipline, or equivalent experience.
Experience leading engineering teams - preferably Software Engineers.
Shows a logical mindset, alongside good problem solving and solution building skills.
Demonstrable experience in executing technical projects within the required cost and schedule constraints.
Desired Characteristics Prior experience of scalable cloud based software development or management in Azure/AWS is highly desirable.
You will be required to work in a team environment, so good written and verbal communication skills will make you (& the team) most effective.
You will be asked to participate in technical reviews within the Aircraft Services team to share technical knowledge and solutions, as well as even the end customer!
