Project Engineering Manager Cumbria Long term contract Nuclear industry We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Engineering Manager to join our team.
This role requires a strong leader with excellent management skills who can effectively direct and hold teams accountable, ensuring project delivery meets both technical and strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the engineering delivery team, ensuring scope, time, cost, and project outcomes are effectively managed.
Ensure the technical quality of all designs, drawings, and documentation, maintaining compliance with client specifications and engineering standards.
Organize and participate in design reviews, ensuring that designs meet project requirements.
Maintain the technical capability of the team, identifying and addressing any shortfalls.
Work closely with the project management team to ensure smooth and timely project delivery.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including CDM, COSHH, and other relevant legislation.
Report project risks when identified and ensure the confidentiality and security of client data.
Required Experience: Proven experience working in fast-paced project environments.
Familiarity with NEC3 contracts and project control procedures.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to negotiate and inspire teams.
Experience managing the full design lifecycle, including all associated documentation and deliverables.
Essential Qualifications: Educated to HNC/HND or degree level in a relevant engineering discipline.
Chartered Engineer and a member of an appropriate engineering institute.

A holistic thinker who can balance technical priorities with strategic goals, maintaining a pragmatic approach.
Excellent stakeholder and communication skills, with the ability to manage complex relationships and negotiations.
