The opportunity As an Engineering Manager, you'll lead the engineering team within Business Services, responsible for high standards in software development, quality assurance, and security, while overseeing the growth of our engineering talent.
Business Services is the engine that drives our core loyalty capabilities, including identity, membership, currency & redemption domains that provide microservices and data products.

What we need from youLeadership & Technical Expertise: Proven experience as an Engineering Manager with a background as a Tech Lead, particularly on backend services
Backend Development: Proficient in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices, with a solid understanding of cloud technologies, ideally AWS
Operational Accountability: Skilled in managing both development and operations with ownership of Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Agile & DevOps Culture: Experience with agile methodologies, DevOps principles, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices
Architecture & Design: Competence in AWS and microservices architecture, with knowledge of domain-driven design
Security & Testing: Familiarity with security best practices, testing approaches, monitoring, and observability tools
Collaborative & Inclusive: Ability to communicate with non-technical colleagues and build strong, inclusive teams focused on equity, diversity, and high performance
