Role: Engineering Lecturer – Mechanical and/or Electrical x 5 Roles Location: Tresham College – Corby Campus Salary/Benefits: Salary from £31,930 per annum (Pro-Rata) DOE and Qualifications, Teacher's pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.Hours/Weeks: 37hrs per weekContract Type: Permanent – Term Time About the role:We are currently seeking Engineering Lecturers in Mechanical and/or Electical/Electronic to join our Engineering department at The Bedford College group.As an Engineering Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through: Carrying out, preparing, teaching and assessing on a range of Engineering courses, teaching programmes in line with college policies and procedure as directed by the Head of Department.Delivering using a wide range of teaching techniques, skills training to learners to facilitate achievement of the Engineering Diplomas, covering practical, workshop based and classroom-based studyPlanning and preparing teaching and learning programmes for individuals and groups of learnersDeveloping teaching material specific to the programme of study being deliveredActing as course tutor to groups of learners within the programme areaTracking, monitoring and reporting on individual learner's progress using the College's systems, and liaising with other personal tutors and others as appropriateParticipating in assessment and Internal Quality Assurance activities for the awards being deliveredPromoting a stimulating learning environment and use a range of teaching and learning strategies and materials, including the use of ILT resources, to encourage development of students' skills and understandingCompleting relevant registration/ completion documentation as required by the College, awarding bodies and other external agencies/customersCompleting necessary documentation to ensure that the College is able to access appropriate funding and resources and maintain records of all learning supportLiaising with learner support staff such as Support Co-ordinators, Dyslexia Co-ordinators, and Learning Support Staff to ensure equality for all learners within the curriculum areaEnsuring compliance with the College's Equal Opportunities, Health & Safety policies and procedures, and relevant manuals of guidanceCompleting relevant Health & Safety training as required by the College or Curriculum areaImplementing Quality Standards and procedures as required by the College and Awarding BodiesParticipating in the development of the annual Course Self-Assessment ReportCarrying out first aid training and obtaining a relevant first aid at work certificateParticipating in the College Performance Appraisal Development Programme, agree an action plan and undertake the required training in order to update skills and meet the requirements of the College and Department Strategic PlanAbout you: Have at minimum a level 3 qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline.Have English and mathematics or similar at GCSE grade A-C or equivalent or willingness to achieve English and mathematics Level 2 within one year.Possess the ability to teach EngineeringHave current experience of teaching, assessing or tutoringHave experience of consistently providing a high-quality learning experience for all studentsPossess the ability to use Microsoft Office software confidentlyPossess the ability to promote the College's outstanding reputation and carry out College business appropriately and professionally at all timesHold responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and for raising any concernsPossess the ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children, young people and vulnerable adultsInterviews to be held: 6 February 2025Successful candidates must also be able to demonstrate alignment to our organisationalVISION values: Valuing Teamwork - We are one team who by working together can achieve great things, respecting the opinion and valuing the contribution each of us makes.Improving Continuously - We challenge ourselves to always do better by trying new things, sharing knowledge, reflecting on practice and learning from others.Student Centred - At our heart is always doing what is best for our students.
