We now have a unique opportunity for an Engineering Geologist/ Geoenvironmental Engineer with previous relevant industry experience to join our growing Geotechnical Division covering primarily our South West - Exeter based regions, with a strong focus on ground investigation delivery.The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with ground investigation work typically across South West and occasionally South Wales and as and when required. Responsibilities:Setting up and organising ground investigation worksDisplay sound leadership and have the ability to work independently where required and problem solveSupervising intrusive investigation activities such as drilling, trial pitting and in-situ testingSoil and rock logging and laboratory schedulingProcessing & Interpretation of field and laboratory resultsReport writing, primarily factual but some interpretative report experience preferrablePerson Specification:BSc degree level qualified in geology/earth sciences or a related environmental subject essentialPrevious UK ground investigation site experience is essential, and knowledge of the various techniques employedMSc in a geotechnical/engineering geology discipline preferable, but not essentialBe able to log samples to BS 5930+A2 technical standardsA good knowledge of the principal soil and rock strata encountered in the UKKnowledgeable in geotechnical studies including good understanding of basic soil mechanicsFamiliar with and be able to interpret geological maps and published geological dataUnderstanding of water, ground and soil gas monitoring techniquesUnderstanding of geotechnical in-situ testing e.g.
