Job Title: Energy Claims Adjuster Department: Claims / Insurance Reports to: Claims Manager / Director of Claims Job Summary: My client is looking for an Energy Claims Adjuster that will assess, investigate, and resolve claims related to energy sector incidents.
This role requires specialised knowledge of the energy industry and the ability to analyse complex claims effectively and efficiently.
The adjuster will work closely with policyholders, clients, and internal teams to ensure claims are settled fairly and in compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities: Claims Investigation: Conduct in-depth investigations of energy claims, including on-site inspections, interviews, and document review.
Gather information on losses, including environmental impacts, structural damage, and equipment failures.
Collaborate with experts and consultants to understand the technical aspects of the incident.
Analysis and Assessment: Analyse claim reports, policy coverage, and liability to determine claim validity and settlement amounts.
Interpret complex energy policies, endorsements, and exclusions to make informed decisions.
Estimate the costs of repairs, replacements, or environmental cleanup efforts.
Claims Resolution: Negotiate and settle claims with claimants, attorneys, and third-party service providers.
Ensure that settlements comply with insurance regulations and company policies.
Prepare and submit detailed reports on the claim's findings and recommendations.
Customer and Stakeholder Communication: Maintain regular contact with policyholders, brokers, and internal stakeholders to provide updates and manage expectations.
Explain coverage details and the claims process in a clear, customer-friendly manner.
Documentation and Compliance: Document all claim information, investigation findings, and communications in the company's claims management system.
Ensure all claims are handled in accordance with legal, regulatory, and corporate guidelines.
Participate in audits and quality control initiatives to improve processes and ensure compliance.
Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Business, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
Relevant certifications in claims adjustment, energy insurance, or risk management (e.g., CPCU, AIC, CIE).
Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in claims adjustment, ideally with a focus on the energy sector.
Knowledge of energy industry operations, including oil, gas, renewable energy, or utilities.
Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in claims management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
Knowledge: Understanding of energy policies, environmental regulations, and energy claim trends.
Familiarity with technical aspects of energy infrastructure, such as oil rigs, wind farms, or solar plants, is a plus.
