West Lothian is located in the central belt, within easy commuting distance of Edinburgh, Stirling and Glasgow and is supported by excellent road and rail links.A new opportunity has arisen within the Housing Strategy and Development Team for an Empty Homes Officer to join a team which strives for excellence and innovation in service delivery and works well with partners.You will assist the Team Manager (Housing Strategy and New Supply) and the Planning and Coordination Officers within a vibrant environment in developing and progressing the council's strategy for identifying empty and vacant properties from the private sector within the context of the council's Local Housing Strategy (LHS), Rapid Rehousing Transition Plan (RRTP) and other related plans, and assisting the team in the delivery of the new supply programme.The Housing Strategy and Development Team is one of six service units within Housing, Customer and Building Services providing a wide range of services including the delivery of the affordable housing programme, the housing capital investment programme and the development of housing policy and strategy for the service.This fixed term role represents an exciting and challenging opportunity for a highly motivated individual.
