Role: Employer Engagement Consultant Location: Hybrid - office based Covering: Birmingham, Coventry and West Brom Salary: £32k - £34k plus company car Contract: Full time, permanent The Role The Employer Engagement Consultant will proactively engage, develop and retain key national and local employer partnerships to support the contractual requirements of the Restart programme.
Responsible for contributing to the development and implementation the Employer Engagement Strategy.
Employer Engagement Consultant will be responsible for sourcing high volume employment opportunities that are sustainable, including vacancies and job focused work placements to meet customer needs and aspirations.
Develop existing key employer partnerships regionally to maintain a flow of employment opportunities aligned to customer aspiration and growth sectors.
The Employer Engagement Consultant will work closely with operations team and supply chain network to identify aspirations and skills analysis to direct and align their focus on such opportunities as well feedback to the operations team and supply chain partners the growth sectors, so that customers can be upskilled and pipeline of candidates are developed.
Key responsibilities Sourcing high volume employment opportunities aligned to customer needs and aspirations Develop key employer partnerships regionally to maintain a flow of employment opportunities for customers Support Employer Engagement Strategy to support performance across the network.
Work with business membership organisations (e.g.
Chambers of Commerce, Federation of Small Businesses), DWP's National and local Employer Services, Growth Hubs, Local Authorities and JCPs to identify sector-specific growth, inward investment plans and skills shortages to enable network to prepare customers for future employment opportunities.
Working collaboratively with employer engagement leads within the supply chain, forge links with local employers to develop employment routeways for Restart customer and ensure that, where possible, a key account management approach prevents multiple supply chain partners hits to the same employer, with protocols for vacancy-sharing and established standards for candidate preparation and in-work support.
Support on network-wide initiatives to respond to local labour market needs and identify opportunities to fill.
Effective networking and building awareness of local strategic priorities to identify local or regional business development opportunities and sharing this with wider company and supply chain.
Support on marketing campaigns using a mix of traditional and digital media and deliver employer engagement events, supported by our Employment, Skills & Enterprise (ESE) Marketing & Communications function.
Work with Operations team and Supply Chain partners, in conjunction with the ESE Marketing & Communications function, to develop high quality case studies that can be used to raise the profile of our Restart provision Coordinate employer satisfaction surveys, supported by the ESE Marketing & Communications function, to support continuous improvement.
Establish and maintain effective internal working relationships, participating when required in cross organisational and sector projects, to ensure opportunities for integration are maximised across Employment, Skills and Enterprise contracts.
Essential technical and professional skills, knowledge and qualifications Previous experience and successful track record in commercial recruitment, sales, business development or employer engagement Experience of working in a performance target driven environment.
Level 4 qualification or equivalent desirable Good knowledge of local labour market and growth sectors Proven ability to build collaborative, professional internal and external relationships Ability to effectively communicate at all levels, using a variety of communication methods (spoken, written, behaviour) Excellent negotiation and influencing skills Always presents a professional approach, while tailoring style according to the audience Self-motivated, high-energy individual with a demonstrable passion for engaging with employers to achieve goals Ability to proactively manage own workload and multiple priorities with excellent organisation and time management skills Demonstrates a flexible approach to work Ability to use own initiative, working independently and lead a team Works well to targets and fixed deadlines Identifies and solves problems Computer literate (MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) Maintains confidentiality Gives and receives constructive criticism Maintains high standards of quality and accuracy, with an attention to detail Follows procedures accurately and reliably Reflects on and evaluates own and others' work Additional / special features of the role Willingness to travel locally The role will require working from multiple sites
