Job Title: Senior Employee Relations Manager Location: Aldermaston, UK Job Type: Full-time contract, 12 months Work Model: Hybrid (3 days/week ) Minimum Requirement: • Lead and manage a personal case load and/or projects, drawing on relevant expertise to resolve complex issues and manage business risk.
• Lead, coach and develop a diverse team to consistently provide high quality, timely and effective HR/ER advice and support to the business in line with the company people plan.
• Deliver a company wide HR service line including associated data management, provider management, legal compliance and delivery of supporting employee communications.
• Lead the consistent delivery of highquality HR/ER advice to customers, working to agreed SLAs and driving a customer centric service and culture of continuous improvement and process optimisation.
• Setting direction and developing a shared understanding of individuals' roles in delivering the Client vision and strategy.
• Enabling the performance and results of the team.
Making sure that team members have the capabilities to get the work done now and in the future.
• Manage demand from business and identify resources • Lead and deliver a defined HR service to support the needs of the business; work with each Head of HR CoE's to ensure that at all times they are legally compliant, relevant and timely, and reflect Client's needs and industry best practise.
• Provide data, undertake expert analysis, research and make recommendations on HR solutions.
• Facilitate the creation and management of reports to track our key measures of success.
• Align Client process, policies and practices to keep in line with best practice, legal requirements etc.
to delivery improvements and build momentum for change, and challenge existing processes if they inhibit improvement.
• Build relationships with external related organisations in order to maintain legal and regulatory compliance and best practise.
• Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality and be a great team player.
Key Responsibilities: • Build and inspire a team; ensuring that capabilities and solutions represent good practice and deliver business need.
• Embed a coaching style across the team, enabling and driving great people leadership in the business.
• Regularly review individual and team performance to identify and resolve issues and drive improvements in line with expectations.
• Support business and HR projects as a dedicated specialist ensuring provision of creative expert advice and guidance.
• Be the expert and escalation point for your area of specialism for the HR function.
• To understand and maintain contractual and template documentation (T&C's) to a legally compliant and commercially focused way.
• Participate in and manage discussions and negotiations with the Trade Unions (TUs) as required, and build the necessary relationships with local TU representatives.• Provide expert support to the Heads of HR and HR Operations Team.
• Anticipate legal updates, ensure they are interpreted for our business and take action to maintain the service.
• Support and train colleagues to manage and maintain HR policy in the specialist area.
• Represent the organisation, where appropriate, on external forums and working groups.
Support business and HR projects as the dedicated lead for HR policy ensuring provision of creative and specialist advice and guidance.
• Ensure HR related documentation (hard copy and electronic) is appropriately handled, managed and retained in compliance with data privacy regulations, including the archiving process; and ensure all correspondence and documentation produced is accurate, using approved templates.
• Ensure local work instructions are followed to maintain process compliance and quality.
• Ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times and that the appropriate Company classifications are applied.
• Maintain understanding of up to date employment regulations, applicable laws and Company policy.
Essential: • Strong Employee Relations experience with a proven track record in a previous HR role, in particular experience of dealing with numerous and highly complex Employee Relations cases, • Chartered member of the CIPD or a relevant degree/NVQ level 7 equivalent in Human Resource Management or similar • Experience of working within a Unionised environment.
• Demonstrates strong commercial approach and understanding of business needs.
• Experience of development and delivery of manager upskilling both individually and through workshops/formal development interventions.
• Up to date Employment Law knowledge and practical application of legislation.
• Passionate about customer service and delivering professional HR support to the business.
• Capability to establish professional credibility quickly.
• Experience of coaching and influencing line managers and senior business leaders.
• Strong time management, organisation and prioritisation skills and the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
• Strong analytical and diagnostic skills.
• Experience of working within a Unionised environment.
