West Midlands Police are looking for an Employee Relations Advisor to join our busy People Services function.

Day-to-day you'll be working on a range employee relations activities and initiatives from policy development, case work and change along with undertaking grievance investigations You will support the ER Team to deliver the Force's and People Services Strategy.
The role is based at Lloyd House, Birmingham.
Key Roles and Responsibilities: Employee Relations Advice : Provide tactical advice and support on all ER matters, including contentious issues such as attendance, conduct, employment tribunal and grievance management.
Policy Development: To update and develop People and ER policies, undertaking research and benchmarking and supporting with consultation with key stakeholders.
Grievance Management: To undertake formal grievance investigations, to include drafting terms of reference, fact finding, presenting at grievance meetings and supporting with the monitoring and implementation of recommendations.
Discipline: To provide comprehensive support and advice to the Professional Standards Department and line managers regarding the application of the Force Disciplinary Policy, supporting Disciplinary Misconduct meetings and hearings.
Change Management : To provide guidance, advice and support to the implementation of force change initiatives as directed by the ER team, ensuring that legal, contractual and regulatory compliance is maintained and risk is managed appropriately.
Employment Tribunal Management : To provide support to the ER team in responding to ACAS early conciliation notices and Employment Tribunal claims, collating information and providing support to line managers as appropriate.
Flexible Working : To provide support to line managers regarding flexible working applications ensuring that the Force is compliant in dealing with requests and identifying pragmatic solutions.
Key Skills and Qualifications: Professionally qualified (CIPD or relevant degree) with a proven track record of knowledge Detailed understanding or Employment Law and Police, Pension and Injury Regulations and application of relevant legislation.
Experience of case management Excellent administrative skills including planning and prioritisation Extensive generalist HR experience working within a HR environment Excellent understanding of data protection in line with the General Data Protection Regulations and ensure confidentiality is adhered to at all times This role is an excellent opportunity for HR professionals looking to make a strategic impact by shaping ER services and ensuring alignment with broader organisational goals.

Vetting:? Successful applicants will be required to pass Recruitment Vetting and Counter-Terrorism Clearance scrutiny prior to commencing their role, this will include a full background and financial disclosure as part of the vetting process.
Medical: Appointment to this role will be dependent upon successfully medical checks, which may include a drugs test and if required a fitness test.
