We are excited to offer an incredible opportunity for trained Emergency Practitioners (EPs) to join our outstanding team of Enhanced and Advanced Level Practitioners within the Urgent and Emergency Care (UEC) Directorate at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust (NWAFT).
Are you an enthusiastic, self-motivated NMC/HCPC Registered Nurse, Paramedic, or Physiotherapist with a passion for managing Acute Injury and Minor Illness?
We want you to be a part of our multidisciplinary team within the integrated Urgent Treatment Care (iUTC) at Peterborough City Hospital (PCH) and the Minor Injuries Unit (MIU) at Stamford and Rutland Hospital.

Explore the full Job Description and Person Specification for more details and apply today to join our team in delivering exceptional urgent and emergency care!The key duties of the Emergency Practitioner role include: Providing high-quality, evidence-based patient care in the Emergency Department and Urgent Treatment Centre.Independently conducting complex assessments, planning, delivering, and evaluating patient care.Acting as an expert resource for both internal and external agencies.Leading and managing unpredictable clinical situations.Developing and delivering education and training to other staff.Managing resources and contributing to strategic service development and improvement.Maintaining professional registration and adhering to relevant legal and clinical guidelines.
Additionally, the role involves supporting professional activities such as continuing education and participating in service improvement initiatives.
Applications need to show that they have qualifications in Advanced clinical skills./ Minor in juries and /or Minor illness, studied at level 6 or 7 to be considered.

Urgent and emergency care | Health Education England ( Person Specification Education and Qualifications Essential Advanced Clinical Assessment Module (Level 6 or 7) NMC Registered Nurse or HCPC Registered Paramedic or Physiotherapist Minor Injuries Module (Level 6 or 7) Minor Illness Module (Level 6 or 7) Current Portfolio of practice evidence Desirable Independent Prescriber (V300) Safeguarding Adults (level 3) Safeguarding children (level 3) IR(ME)R certificate Paediatric Immediate Life Support provider (PILS) Advanced Life Support provider (ALS) - or equivalent Completed or working toward accreditation/credentialling within area of work: The Royal College of Emergency Medicine (RCEM) or North West Anglia Foundation Trust (NWAFT) specific ePortfolio.
Immediate Life Support provider (ILS) Generic instructor for the resuscitation council or ALSG Leadership qualification Teaching / Assessment and mentoring qualification Experience Essential Has >=5 year's whole time equivalent (WTE) post registration experience working within Emergency, Urgent or Acute Care at AfC Band 5 or above Has >=1 years whole time equivalent (WTE) experience working at a senior level within Acute, Urgent or Emergency Care at AfC Band 6 or above Competent in the clinical assessment and management of all patient groups Able to role model and lead whilst working independently and within a team Desirable Leadership experience Experience of teaching at informal and formal level.
Line management experience Change management experience Participated in audit and developed service improvement strategies Has had appraisal and recruitment training Knowledge Essential Demonstrates a knowledge and understanding of Enhanced and Advanced level practice Experience of applying research evidence to clinical practice Awareness of local and national issues relating to healthcare provision Evidence of continuing professional development Competent to interpret radiographs and making appropriate clinical interventions from diagnostics.
Desirable Competent to interpretation of clinical diagnostics such as blood results and make appropriate plan and intervention including blood gasses.
Has evidence of a recent audit undertaken and then able interpret the findings to relate to own practice Experience of working on a Trust committee or group Key Skills Essential Demonstrate a clear vision and the role of the Enhanced Clinical Practitioner service Demonstrates skilled written and verbal communication, presentation and decision -making skills.
Organised, able to prioritise, make decisions and meet targets/deadlines Willingness to embrace change to meet the short and long term needs of the Urgent and Emergency Care.
Ability to support staff in a demanding and challenging environment.
Able to undertake basic wound management (, clean, medical photography, steri -strips, medical glue, appropriate dressing etc.).
Able to undertaken advanced wound management techniques (, suturing, staples etc.)
Able to work under pressure Flexibility in approach Good negotiation and advocacy skills Desirable Ability to initiate, sustain and evaluate change Other Essential Portfolio of evidence with evidence of Direct Observation of Procedural Skills (DOPS) Demonstrates understanding of relevant national strategy/policy and how to relate this to the service.
Willingness to work in various locations throughout the UEC within NWAFT Desirable Experience working with Symphony IT system and or system one Experience with using Word and Excel .
