***This role requires you to be on-site in Capenhurst near Chester (CH1 6ES) at least 50% of the time*** About the Role: This is an exciting opportunity to join VisNet, a rapidly growing business within EA Technology, focused on designing and manufacturing cutting-edge LV monitoring and fault restoration products.
These technologies play a key role in helping Electricity Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) transition to Net Zero and support throwing demand for electric vehicles and low-carbon heating.
As part of our dynamic team, you'll contribute to developing pioneering solutions that will shape the future of electricity networks in the UK and beyond.
You'll be joining a talented, collaborative team of electronics, software, and firmware engineers, as well as our Data Analytics and Data Systems teams, all working together to push the boundaries of technology in the energy sector.
This role is perfect for a proactive and experienced engineer who enjoys taking full ownership of product development and thrives in a growing, fast-paced environment.
With a focus on quality and continuous improvement, you'll have the opportunity to lead key projects and influence the deployment of revolutionary equipment across the industry.
Key Responsibilities - Lead the full lifecycle development of electronic elements of products, including analogue and digital electronics.
- Design, analyse, validate and verify the electronic aspects of products, ensuring they meet the latest regulatory standards (e.g., EMC, LVD, CE, UKCA).
- Produce high-quality technical documentation and collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure the successful delivery of products.
- Take ownership of projects, driving quality and process improvements as the scale of product deployment increases.
What we'll need from you: - Considerable proven experience in Professional Electronic Engineering.
- Strong skills in communication, leadership, and presentation.
- A solid track record of designing products that meet regulatory requirements, including documentation support.
- Experience in full product lifecycle management, from specification to manufacturing and deployment.
- Ability to lead and manage projects, including overseeing teams of engineers.
- Flexibility and adaptability to prioritize changing project needs.
Desirable skills: - Chartered Engineer status or progress toward this.
- Experience with firmware development (C, C++) and Python for test scripts.
- Knowledge of the electricity industry or control room applications would be advantageous.
- Experience managing projects and leading cross-functional teams.
