Electrical Technician - Renewables - Berkshire - £40k to £50k Location: Berkshire
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Thursday 9:00am to 5:30pm (9:00am – 5:00pm Friday), with scope for flexibility between 8:00am and 6:00pm.
On-Site Requirement: Full-time, 5 days on-site
About the Role: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Technician to join our team, specialising in advanced renewables systems and supporting technologies.
This hands-on role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and refining electrical systems, with a strong focus on ATEX compliance and working with regulated environments.
You will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and safety of cutting-edge systems, supporting prototyping, manufacturing, and production operations.
This position is ideal for an experienced electrical professional with a background in hazardous area operations and CompEx certification.
Key Responsibilities: Electrical Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical components within fuel cell systems.
Compliance and Safety: Ensure all electrical work adheres to ATEX regulations and safety standards, particularly in hazardous environments.
System Optimisation: Collaborate with engineering and production teams to enhance system performance and reliability.
Prototyping Support: Assist in the electrical assembly and testing of prototype systems, providing feedback for improvements.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, test results, and system modifications.
On-Site Support: Provide occasional support at customer sites, ensuring systems meet operational and safety requirements.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with technicians and engineers across disciplines to deliver high-quality results.
Key Skills and Experience: Electrical Expertise: Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and component integration, particularly in hazardous environments.
ATEX Compliance: Experience with ATEX Zones 1-4 and CompEx certification is ideal.
Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve electrical issues effectively.
Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using tools and equipment for electrical assembly, maintenance, and testing.
Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with industry standards for electrical systems in hazardous and regulated environments.
Proactive Attitude: Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications: Formal electrical engineering qualifications or relevant certifications.
Experience in hydrogen systems, oil and gas, or other regulated industries.
Familiarity with prototyping and advanced manufacturing technologies.
