As an Electrical Engineer, you'll oversee the Power Distribution Group, ensuring compliance with legislation and delivering projects safely and effectively.
You'll lead complex HV/LV electrical work, including installations, modifications, and technical studies.
Your role will also involve quickly addressing plant faults with robust solutions, while providing engineering support for the maintenance and enhancement of the Culham sites power infrastructure.
If you're eager to take full ownership of relevant work packages, ensuring all technical requirements are met while carrying out work safely and cost-effectively.
You'll also be responsible for the design, specification, procurement, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of assigned electrical systems.
You shall be expected to be at a competency needed to authorise and supervise work on electrical system.
Additional Responsibilities: - Manage multidisciplinary teams, including electrical staff, agency workers, and external contractors, to support UKAEA operations, utilizing matrix management and collaboration to meet supplier requirements.
- Prepare engineering procedures, risk assessments, method statements, and local rules to support the Electrical Services Groups needs.
- Oversee supplier requirements, including the review and approval of documentation, while ensuring costs are controlled within budgetary constraints.
- Provide assurance through calculation, analysis, and review of electrical switchgear and cabling; act as Project Engineer or Project Manager for relevant projects.
- Act as the owner of plant/equipment, ensuring adherence to Asset Management systems, while offering technical expertise, fault finding, and mentoring to staff and apprentices.
Qualifications Essential Requirements: - Bachelors degree or HNC/HND or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
- Extensive experience obtained following award of the qualification, in an electrical engineering role in an industrial hazardous or harsh environment and professional experience which demonstrates an ability to work at this level.
- Demonstrable knowledge of large distribution networks.
- Experience of preparing safety documentation including risk assessments, method statements and using a formal permit system for work on complex, hazardous electrical plant.
- Experience of issuing electrical isolations on Low Voltage systems, including racking out of air circuit breakers.
